What the WRAT-5 tests
The WRAT-5 measures four core academic skills: Word Reading, Sentence Comprehension, Spelling, and Math Computation. Total testing time is 30-45 minutes and it is untimed for younger students.
Who can administer it
In Florida, a nationally-normed achievement test must be administered by a certified teacher or an equivalent qualified professional. Most families use a local homeschool evaluator, a private tutor with certification, or a testing center.
Getting your scores counted
The evaluator produces a signed report showing the standard score and grade equivalent for each subtest. Upload that report to HomeSchool Hub and it will blend directly into the student's profile and Evaluation Packet.
Weekend prep plan
Focus on reading fluency with grade-level passages, a spelling drill of 30 common words, and 15 minutes of mental-math flashcards each day for two weeks. Over-preparing tends to raise anxiety — familiarity with test format matters more than cramming.
