Who is eligible
As of 2023's universal expansion, every Florida K-12 student — including homeschoolers using a Personalized Education Program (PEP) — can apply, regardless of family income. Priority still goes to lower-income households when funds are limited.
How much you get
The 2025-26 award averages ~$8,000 per student and is delivered as an education savings account. Funds can be spent on curriculum, tutoring, therapies, testing fees, and approved technology.
The application flow
Apply through Step Up For Students. You'll need proof of Florida residency, the student's birth certificate, and a completed application. Approval turnaround is typically 2-6 weeks during peak season.
Keeping receipts
Every reimbursable purchase must have an itemized receipt. HomeSchool Hub tags eligible resources and gives you a downloadable receipt vault at year-end — critical for the annual compliance report.
